The motivation behind her distinctive work is symbolism. It was the Rt. Revd. Bishop Martin Wharton from Newcastle upon Tyne, who said that tension in this financially unstable life revolved around the issues of gender, identity, and relationships, and that christians have to live in the place of pain in the world, and by symbolism show people that despite all appearances this is God's world. Art is such a vehicle.
